Nile Cement Company (NCCL)

Overview

Established in 1960, Nile Cement Company (NCCL) stands as a pioneering force in cement manufacturing. With ownership of Rabak Cement Factory and an extensive limestone reserve of 250 million tons in Al-Jabalian Area, NCCL is a key contributor to the construction industry. The company is strategically positioned with easy transportation access through a railway line and proximity to the Coasty river harbor, facilitating seamless exportation routes.

Operations

Nile Cement Company’s operational excellence is underscored by its massive limestone reserve, efficient transportation infrastructure, and strategic location. The Rabak Cement Factory, occupying 8,200 square meters, boasts a formidable production output of 1,000 metric tons of cement per day. The drilling process at the limestone reserve, rock disintegration, and transportation to the factory form part of an intricate production process. Additional materials are incorporated into the raw mix, leading to the production of clinker. The clinker undergoes cooling, mixing, and grinding, culminating in the production of high-quality cement. Future development plans include transitioning to the use of Petcoke for sustainable production, adding a new production line, storage silos, and integrating specialized machinery and vehicles.

Highlights

NCCL’s remarkable highlights include a substantial limestone reserve, advantageous transportation infrastructure, and a strategic partnership between the Carawan Group (majority holders) amongst other private companies. Overcoming financial challenges, the company transitioned to private ownership in 2004, completing construction and expanding production capacity to 1,000 metric tons of cement per day. The Rabak Cement Factory serves as a testament to NCCL’s commitment to quality and efficiency. With ongoing development plans focusing on sustainability and expansion, NCCL remains a driving force in Sudan’s cement manufacturing industry.
